The role:
On behalf of a local council, we are seeking an experienced Licensing Officer who is familiar with Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Taxi and Private Hire, and Street Trading to cover for a vacant post following the retirement of the post holder.
You must be familiar with the preparation and presentation of reports to Licensing Sub-Committees and preparation of legal files.
Occasional evening and weekend working may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Council in discharging is Licensing and Registration functions, including determining applications, inspections and presenting reports for hearings,
Respond to service requests involving the licensing area, such as investigating complaints, assisting customers and others with requests for advice and collecting evidence for legal proceedings,
Assist with the development of Policies and Procedures.
What the client is looking for:
Previous experience as a Licensing Officer within a local authority
A good understanding of the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Taxi and Private Hire, and Street Trading
Experienced in assisting the Council in discharging is Licensing and Registration functions, including administration and determining applications.
Experience of discharging Licensing and Registration functions, including presenting reports for hearings.
A strong background in investigating complaints, assisting customers and others with requests for advice and collecting evidence for legal proceedings.
Ability to conduct inspections of premises and licence holders ensuring that any operator needing a licence has one, and licence holders are compliant with conditions.
