Teaching Assistant
Hours: 27.50 Hours per week 8.30am 3.30pm Monday to Friday
Salary: NJC Scale 2 point 3 £24,027 FTE (Actual pro rata £15,274.58)
Contract: Fixed Term initially subject to pupil numbers. End date 31/08/2026
Midday Assistant
Hours: 5 hours per week 1 hour per day
Salary: NJC Scale 2 point 3 £24,027 FTE (Actual pro rata £2,777.20)
Contract: Fixed Term initially subject to pupil numbers. End date 31/08/2026

The Governors and Headteacher at Abingdon Primary School are seeking to appoint a knowledgeable, patient and friendly teaching assistant, with midday assistant duties. The successful candidate will have a full induction and join our happy, inclusive school serving the South Reddish community, working as part of our wonderful and inspiring team.

You will:
- Have the knowledge to be able to support children with their learning across the curriculum
- Be willing to engage in training for whole school schemes e.g. Read, Write, Inc and The Write Stuff
- Be kind, friendly and be an excellent team player
- Enjoy working with children
- Be flexible and adaptable in an exciting, fast-paced environment
- Support children with a range of needs with their learning and self-regulation
- Work well with other staff and agencies
- Be extremely pro-active, have high expectations and be emotionally resilient
- Have the ability to work in a 1:1 situation and to also teach groups
- Be able to deliver interventions such as Speech & Language or Occupational Therapy (training will be provided)
- Use technology such as iPads or computers to adapt work for children or support their learning
