We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Throughcare and Aftercare Team Manager to lead our team in Argyll & Bute. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping and delivering high quality support services for young people aged 16 – 25 who are transitioning to independence. This includes responsibility for working in partnership with our Resettlement Service to deliver bespoke and high quality services to our Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking young people.

You will be managing a staff team who work across our remote, rural and island communities to deliver a high quality service to our care experienced children and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking young people as they move towards and onto independence.

As well as the day to day management of the team you will work with key partners within and external to social work, you will be responsible for the development and continuous improvement of the service in line with The Promise.

Your responsibilities will include

Leading and managing the Throughcare and Aftercare Team, providing supervision and support to staff

Develop and implement service delivery strategies that align with our organisational priorities and best practice

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures

Foster positive relationships with young people, their families, and internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the service, making recommendations for improvements as necessary

Contribute to the training and professional development of team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

You must hold

  • a DipSW or equivalent Social Work qualification and be registered with the SSSC.

Additionally you must have

  • supervisory experience
  • significant practice experience and a grasp of operational and strategic priorities.
  • Significant operational practice and ability to intervene in complex and high profile cases.
  • An ability to manage risk and to take calculated assessed risks.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • PVG membership
  • Have or be willing to undertake a management qualification
