The Roles
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team and develop their skills within the construction industry. This Apprenticeship is ideal for applicants with a keen interest in construction, have good hand skills with an eye for quality, and a desire to learn. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in the trade.

Key Responsibilities – Apprentice Carpenter

• Assist qualified carpenters with the construction, installation, and repair of wooden structures and fittings on-site.
• Learn to interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications under supervision.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials using hand and power tools.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area to ensure site safety and efficiency.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
• Keep tools and equipment in good working order through regular maintenance checks.
• Report any issues or hazards to a supervisor promptly and accurately.
• Work collaboratively with other trades and team members to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Attend and participate in training sessions as part of the apprenticeship programme
• Demonstrate a proactive attitude toward learning new skills and improving existing ones.



What We’re Looking For…

Essential:
• Genuine interest in site carpentry and a long-term commitment to a career in the construction industry.
• Willingness and ability to attend college and complete all apprenticeship requirements.
• Practical mindset with good problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working at height.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Basic communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Desirable:
• 2 GCSEs (grade 4/C or above or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Previous experience of hands-on work, e.g. labouring, DIY, or school-based construction projects.
• Awareness of basic health and safety principles.
• Access to transport or willingness to travel to various construction sites and training locations.
• A full UK driving licence or willingness to work toward obtaining one.

Training and Development:
Apprentice Carpenter – Level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery - 2 year course -

The apprentice will be enrolled on a recognised apprenticeship standard in Carpentry and Joinery (Site Carpenter pathway). Training will include practical, on-site experience and day-release attendance at a college or training provider. Ongoing supervision and mentorship will be provided by experienced tradespeople. Please note, should carpentry not be available on a given day, you may be required to support other trades as part of your work.
