Who are Pobl Group?

Pobl Group are a proud employer of over 2,300 colleagues providing diverse services and making a difference in communities throughout Wales. Our Care team provides registered care services throughout South Wales at dozens of locations and for a wide range of customers.

Pobl means ‘People’ and people really are at the heart of everything we do. We support some truly amazing people to live positive, independent lives in their own home and help get them where they want to be in life.

What is the role?

This is a vibrant 38-bed service, offering a mix of sheltered housing and care accommodation, alongside a welcoming day centre. Our tenants are individuals with unique personalities and varying support needs, including some living with dementia.

As an Extra Care service, we support people aged 55 and over who live independently in their own self-contained flats.

As a Care Worker, you'll take a person-centred approach, helping our residents live life to the fullest. You’ll support them with daily activities, personal care, and developing or maintaining their independence and life skills, while also offering emotional support and meaningful companionship.

At Pobl, we call our team members Difference Makers because that's exactly what you are. You’ll be part of a team where your voice is heard and your impact is felt. Our culture is grounded in the values we live by every day: Positive. Considerate. Connected.

You will play a vital role in supporting individuals with the day-to-day aspects of independent living, including:

Administering medication safely and accurately
Developing daily living skills, such as cooking and household tasks
Supporting access to the community, including attending local groups and events
Encouraging hobbies and meaningful activities tailored to individual interests
Working collaboratively as part of a supportive team with strong communication skills
Maintaining accurate and high-quality records and documentation
Assisting with budgeting and financial planning to promote independence
Providing companionship, engaging in conversations around interests and wellbeing
Making life enjoyable, by encouraging participation in fun and enriching activities that build confidence and life skills
Supporting with household cleanliness and basic administrative tasks
Bringing creativity and fresh ideas to improve how we support and engage individuals
Delivering personalised support, tailored to each person’s unique needs

What skills and experience do you need?

A background of working with older people with dementia is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.  More important are;

A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives
A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
