To support the Advanced Specialist Pharmacist Formulary and Medicines Optimisation with the maintenance of the UHP Formulary and implementation of the Devon-wide Formulary within the Trust. To work as part of the Clinical Commissioning and Medicines Optimisation (CCMO) team to manage urgent requests for non-formulary or non-commissioned medication across all specialties.To co-ordinate and manage a system to review and receive updates relating to individual patient requests for non-formulary and/or non-commissioned medicine request To co-produce Trust wide formulary bulletins monthly. To present complex information formally and informally at individual, small and large group levels, and using initiative, tact and persuasive skills to secure positive engagement including provision of formulary advice to members of the UHP pharmacy clinical team, UHP clinicians and staff at the UHP outpatient pharmacy. Provide high level, robust, critical appraisals of all new drug applications for inclusion on the monthly Drugs and Therapeutics Committee meeting. Take in enquiries to the service by telephone, email, letter, and in person, from health professionals and members of the public, working to current UKMi and departmental standards. Ensure that adequate details are taken from the enquirer as far as is possible to establish accurately the background and clinical perspective to the enquiry, communicating effectively and appropriately with the enquirer according to the enquirers role and experience. In collaboration with the MI Manager, ensure workload is managed appropriately, prioritised and deadlines met. Provide day-to-day supervision and support of junior staff who may be attached to the service, including trainee pharmacists. ***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as Priority and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
