Neway are currently looking for a Senior Estates Surveyor to join our client based with Lewisham Council.

This role is starting on the 1st of July for a 10 month contract, working 35 hours a week.

PAYE: £32.19 per hour

Limited/Umbrella: £41.33 per hour

About the Role Lewisham Council’s Inclusive Regeneration Group is seeking an experienced Senior Estates Surveyor to support the delivery of strategic estate management services within the Corporate Property and Estates team. Reporting to the Estates Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing valuation and estate functions, progressing commercial processes, and ensuring our assets are optimally utilised in line with Council policies and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Estates Manager in leading the valuation and estate management functions.

Manage procurement and commercial activities that enable team success.

Contribute to strategic estate planning and delivery, ensuring assets are fit for purpose.

Oversee key landlord and tenant matters including lease negotiations, rent reviews, and valuations.

Identify and pursue new opportunities to maximise estate value and service delivery.

Champion efficient, policy-aligned estate management across the Council’s portfolio.

Requirements

Proven experience in estates/asset management within a public sector or similar setting.

Strong knowledge of commercial property matters including leases, rent assessments, and property law.

Experience in managing procurement and commercial strategies.

RICS membership or relevant professional accreditation desirable.

Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
