Job Introduction

Are you a skilled data and reporting professional ready to make a real impact? Sodexo is seeking a Power BI Data & Reporting Manager to join our Strategic Property Services (PSS) team Metropolitan Police, supporting one of the UK’s most prominent blue-light service clients. This is a high-profile role that blends data analytics, strategic reporting, and operational insight to support and enhance the full property lifecycle across a complex, multi-service contract.

As the Power BI Data & Reporting Manager, you will lead on delivering powerful insights through the Common Data Environment (CDE), providing essential reporting and analysis across estates, facilities, asset, and capital projects. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team of property analysts and economists, transforming data into clear, actionable intelligence that drives operational strategy, enhances performance, and supports continuous improvement across the client’s estate.

Whatyou’ll do:

  • Data Reporting & Visualisation

    • Lead the end-to-end development and delivery of interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualisations using Power BI, ensuring outputs are accurate, insightful, and aligned with stakeholder needs.

    • Ensure all BI outputs undergo thorough User Acceptance Testing (UAT), quality assurance, and visual review before release into the production environment.

    • Design and deliver intuitive reporting solutions that support strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and contractual compliance.

  • Data Architecture & Integration

    • Collaborate with UK IS&T and BI teams to enrich and optimise the Common Data Environment (CDE), including the Data Warehouse and integrations from TRIRIGA and other systems.

    • Support the implementation and maintenance of scalable ETL processes and data pipelines using SQL, R, or other suitable tools.

    • Develop and document source-to-target mappings, and re-engineer manual data flows to automated, sustainable solutions.

  • Insight Development & Strategic Analysis

    • Conduct deep-dive analysis across multiple property-related domains (e.g., cost, asset lifecycle, energy, compliance) to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities.

    • Work with cross-functional teams to convert raw data into actionable insights that contribute to investment appraisals, business case development, and service transformation.

    • Utilise statistical methods and tools (e.g., R Studio, R Markdown) to build predictive models, evaluate business performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Innovation, Quality & Governance

    • Promote best practices in data governance, including metadata management, audit trail maintenance, and data privacy.

    • Maintain consistency, resilience, and scalability in all data products and adhere to information security standards.

    • Champion innovation within the team, exploring and adopting emerging tools and technologies to enhance analytical capability.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Build strong working relationships with Service Leads, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure that reporting outputs are timely, relevant, and impactful.

    • Provide strategic support to the Head of Strategic Property Services and contribute to client engagement, account development, and new business proposals.

    • Participate in stakeholder workshops to gather and clarify requirements, ensuring analytical outputs meet both contractual and operational objectives.

  • Team Development & Technical Leadership

    • Act as a mentor and technical advisor to junior analysts, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.

    • Lead and contribute to the Data, Analytics & Insights Community of Practice, helping evolve service offerings and developing colleagues through guidance and knowledge sharing.

    • Take ownership of the ongoing review and improvement of service solutions, including standard operating procedures and reporting frameworks.

  • Operational Support & Service Continuity

    • Manage and maintain the BI and BA functions of the Common Data Environment to support contract KPIs and compliance needs.

    • Support the business in responding to contractual and ad-hoc reporting requests, ensuring outputs are delivered on time and to a high standard.

    • Ensure all reporting aligns with statutory, health and safety, environmental, and security requirements.

What you bring:

  • Proven track record in data analysis, visualisation, and BI delivery (especially using Power BI).

  • Solid understanding of SQL, Excel, and data modelling principles.

  • Experience in developing dashboards, reports, and automated data solutions.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work across diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects with competing priorities.

  • Experience delivering reports and insights in compliance with regulatory and client-specific standards.

  • Curiosity, problem-solving ability, and a strategic mindset.

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to innovation and service enhancement.

Desirable:

  • Experience with R Studio, TRIRIGA reporting tools, Azure data services.

  • Exposure to facilities or property data environments.

  • Familiarity with spatial data and visual storytelling techniques.

  • Working knowledge of GitHub or similar tools for version control and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Analytics, Economics, or similar), or equivalent experience.

  • Professional certifications in Power BI, SQL, or relevant analytics tools are a plus.
