Hours: Monday to Friday, Day Shift, overtime available

A well-established commercial vehicle operation is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic, also known as a Trailer Technician, Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician, or Commercial Vehicle Mechanic, to join their Shepshed team. This workshop-based role offers excellent earning potential, structured training, and one of the best benefits packages in the industry.
Key Responsibilities of an HGV Mechanic
Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on trailers to high safety and quality standards
Diagnose and resolve faults using systems such as HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE
Complete compliance documentation accurately and efficiently
Deliver excellent customer service and meet deadlines in a busy workshop environment
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace
Attend ongoing product and technical training including IRTEC, tail lift, axle, and brake courses
Support and uphold company values in all aspects of your work
What We’re Looking For
Essential
Previous experience working on semi-trailers or HGVs
Relevant industry qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ
Ability to follow health and safety procedures and compliance guidelines
Desirable
HGV Class 1 licence
IRTEC accreditation
Experience with EBS diagnostics (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)
Welding certification
Experience with axle, tail lift, or lifting deck systems
