Summary
We aim for our children at St Anne’s Catholic Primary School to be happy, confident and respectful. Our children are nurtured and educated from their first day, until they leave us for the next stage in their educational journey. We provide our children with a broad, balanced and high-quality curriculum, which we review and evaluate regularly.
The Governors of St Anne’s are looking to appoint a member of staff who is committed to high standards and achieving the best for the children in our caring and inclusive school. We currently have posts in EYFS and various posts in KS1/KS2.
Main Duties:
•Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
•Deal with the personal care and comfort of pupils as required in relation to welfare, health, hygiene, toileting, dressing, feeding, mobility and administering of medicines.
•Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
•Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
•Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils, self-esteem and independence.
•Support the use of specialist equipment and procedures including, moving and handling to meet a child’s individual needs.
•Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and supportive environment in accordance with lesson plans.
•In liaison with the teacher, utilise strategies to support pupils in achieving learning goals.
•Assist with the display of children’s work.
•Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievements and progress in agreed format.
• •Provide clerical/administrative support (e.g. photocopying, word processing, filing, collecting money etc.)
•Be involved in the planning, development, and implementation of programmes of support for pupils with special educational needs. •
•Support Literacy/Numeracy programmes (e.g. Springboard, AL, FLS), recording achievements and progress and providing appropriate reports and feedback for the teacher.
Training
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. St Anne's will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard
• CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (by exception)
This will be delivered through St Anne's dedicated training provider, Realise.
Qualifications required
Achieved/predicted GCSE English and Maths grade 4 and above
Must be able to complete Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship standard
Skills required

helpful at all times.

Provide a good first impression of the school to
parents and visitors.

A team player, able to build successful
relationships with pupils and adults.

Ability to use IT including Microsoft Office

Understands the importance of keeping
