Summary

Lecturer in Animal Management
36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
£33,550 - £40,073 per annum

We have an opportunity to join our Animal Management team to course-lead, plan and deliver on our Animal Management courses, with a focus on animal husbandry and welfare. Our courses offer students wishing to enter the animal management sector a more dynamic opportunity to study the theoretical components, whilst developing their practical skills in our Animal Management Centre. Our students are taught essential and advanced skills by industry specialists and will also complete invaluable work experience placements.

We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced individual to deliver across our Animal Management provision. In particular, we are looking for an individual with expertise in animal husbandry, with proven experience of working within the animal management sector. Units may include health and husbandry, feeding and nutrition. In addition, you will teach across levels on subjects relating to animal husbandry and management, so a background working in a zoo, pet shop, kennels or other husbandry environment is essential.

Applicants should have a degree, or higher, in a relevant discipline as well as professional experience in a relevant field. Ideally applicants should be a qualified teacher or, if not, have the commitment to obtain an appropriate qualification.

You will be responsible for the teaching, development and planning of the curriculum area and implementing strategies for the delivery of an effective, high-quality curriculum.

If this is your first step into teaching, more information about becoming an FE Teacher can be found on the Teach in Further Education website: https://www.teach-in-further-education.campaign.gov.uk/

Closing date: Wednesday 9 July 2025 at Midnight
