Gower College Swansea is one of the largest colleges in Wales with a strong reputation for high quality teaching and learning. We have six campuses across the city with over 4,500 full time learners and 10,000 part time learners. The role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well-established and highly successful Visual Arts team, based in our historic Llwyn Y Bryn campus, located in the vibrant Uplands area of Swansea. The department currently has over 200 full time learners, who are looking to develop their Creative skills with a view to progressing onto higher levels of learning or into employment.
To cover maternity leave, we are seeking applications from outstanding individuals to perform the role of Visual Arts Technician, providing technical assistance and support across a range of Visual Arts courses
Full-time (37 hours per week)
Term-time (36 weeks per annum)
Fixed term for 1 year
£24,691 - £25,217 per annum
Llwyn Y Bryn CampusKey Responsibilities:Responsible for the preparation and setting out of materials and equipment in preparation for classes and workshops
Assist with the setting up of exhibition spaces, including mounting artwork, handling display boards and exhibition stands
Responsible for the distribution of materials and student loan equipment e.g. cameras
About you:
Educated to Level 3 or equivalent in an Art related subject area
ICT competent - able to use spreadsheets or willingness to be trained
Experience of art and object handling and demonstrate practical and technical skills

28 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, and the college is closed for two weeks over the Christmas period
