About the Role

Leader Systems is seeking a dedicated Life Safety Systems Engineer with a stable employment history and solid hands-on experience in the servicing, repair, and modification of life safety systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, refuge systems, and disabled call systems.

You’ll begin with a 12-week paid probation period, receiving structured hands-on training alongside experienced lead engineers and field managers. Once assessed, you’ll progress to independent work with increased earning potential and eligibility for the emergency support rota.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Performing planned maintenance, fault-finding, small works, and modifications on life safety systems
  • Completing electronic service reports in line with British Standards and Leader Systems procedures
  • Participating in an emergency support rota (1 week in 6, post-assessment)
  • Committing to continuous professional development via structured internal and external training

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience servicing, repairing, and modifying life safety systems: fire alarms, emergency lighting, call systems, etc.
  • Stable work history, primarily with companies specialising in fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Full UK Driving Licence (max 3 points)
  • Technically minded with a strong willingness to learn and develop

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Formal qualifications such as FIA, Zzeus, BAFE (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working on major brands including Advanced, Gent, Siemens, Morley, and Notifier – this is a distinct advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of UK statutory requirements for life safety systems
  • Certified in fire alarm installation, commissioning, and maintenance via FIA or IFEDA

What Leader Systems Offers

  • Competitive salary with performance bonuses
  • Company-provided estate car or van, laptop, mobile phone, test equipment, and full PPE
  • Structured in-house and external training
  • Paid call-out retainer as part of the emergency support rota
