Summary
The Clinical Teaching Team Lead (CTTL) role entails providing both tactical and operational leadership for undergraduate medical education across County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. This includes: Leading a multidisciplinary teaching team, including Clinical Teaching Fellows, nurse educators, and academic F2 doctors. Coordinating MBBS student placements across multiple hospital sites in line with medical school and GMC standards. Designing, delivering, and evaluating teaching programmes, including bedside, classroom, simulation, and digital learning. Supporting student wellbeing, providing pastoral care, and managing sensitive issues such as academic difficulty or safeguarding. Collaborating with internal and external partners, including universities, clinical leads, NHS Education England, and GP practices. Driving quality improvement and innovation in education delivery and assessment methods. Managing teaching resources and governance, including health & safety, asset tracking, and workforce planning. Its a leadership role that combines educational excellence, operational oversight, and hands-on teaching to ensure a safe, effective, and enriching experience for medical students
