About the Role

As the Practice Education & ASYE Coordinator, you will lead the development and support of social work students and newly qualified social workers across Children’s Integrated Services. This pivotal role involves coordinating placements, mentoring Practice Educators, and managing the ASYE programme to ensure high standards of professional practice and continuous improvement.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Essential Qualifications

· Recognised qualification in Social Work (e.g., Degree, PGDip, MA/MSc).
· Registration with a professional body, such as Social Work England.
· Practice Education Qualification (e.g., Stage 2 or equivalent).

Essential Experience

· Supported and assessed student social workers.
· Coordinated training and development within a social work setting.
· Developed and maintained positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
· Communicated effectively at all levels, both orally and in writing.
· Produced professional documents, reports, and presentations using tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Implemented quality assurance processes and provided constructive feedback to students and NQSWs.

Essential Knowledge

In-depth understanding of:
· Practice Education Standards and ASYE framework.
· Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and the Assessment Framework for Children in Need.
· National agendas such as Family Hubs, Supporting Families, and Family Help.
· Awareness of the City Council’s core values and strategic aims

Essential Skills and Competencies

· Strong organisational and time management skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Ability to provide effective supervision and mentorship.
· Competence in assessing and evaluating performance.
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
· Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

· Upholds equality, diversity, and inclusion in practice.
