Admin Officer - (HMP Norwich)

Location: HMP Norwich - Young Offender Institution
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
Hours: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, 37 hours per week
Pay: Weekly

Our public sector based client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Admin Officer to join their team within the Young Offender Institution (YOI) unit at HMP Norwich. This is a full-time, temporary position. The role is fully office-based and plays an essential part in supporting the day-to-day administrative operations of the YOI unit.

Key Responsibilities

As an Admin Officer in the YOI unit, you will:

  • Provide general administrative support to staff and management
  • Maintain accurate records and an organised filing system
  • Respond to queries relating to area of work, redirecting where required.
  • Handle internal and external queries, escalating or redirecting where necessary
  • Support operational efficiency within the unit through reliable administrative assistance

Requirements

  • Prior administrative experience or strong transferrable office-based skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks, including:
  • A valid passport
  • Proof of address
  • Proof of National Insurance number
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • Completion of a three-year referencing process
