Grounds Maintenance Operative
Location: Shell Bacton, Paston Road, Bacton, Norwich NR12 0JE
Salary: £13.00 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Your Role:
As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will carry out a range of horticultural and grounds care duties across designated outdoor areas. Working to agreed specifications and standards, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and attractive environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Grass cutting and fine turf maintenance
- Hedge trimming, shrub and tree pruning
- Planting bedding and seasonal displays
- Weed and litter removal
- Digging, mulching, and watering of plant areas and containers
- Collection and disposal of green waste
- Gritting and snow clearance duties (including participation in the on-call rota)
- Adhering to safe working practices and procedures at all times
- Operating grounds maintenance equipment safely and correctly
- Following all relevant permits, safe systems of work, and risk assessments
- Promptly reporting hazards, near misses, and incidents
- Supporting any additional tasks as requested by the Grounds Team Lead or General Services Manager
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance and use of machinery
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- A strong awareness of health and safety practices
- Willingness to attend training and respond to reasonable management requests
