About the Role

The Storekeeper Administrator assists with the organisation and co-ordination of the depot stores and yards including waste and recycling operations.

This role will involve working within the Stores building at Croft depot from 06:45am until 16:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 06:45am until 15:30pm Fridays.

The successful candidate will ensure the ordering and re-ordering of stock and materials is maintained to specific pre-determined stock levels, that goods and materials are stored appropriately complying with appropriate standards.

They will support the co-ordination and transport of goods, ensuring H&S procedures are followed for loading and unloading, and also support the removal of spoil from depots and assist in the transfer of waste management paperwork.

They will assist with the processing of delivery, transfer, waste and despatch documentations in accordance with local procedures and current legislation. Maintain good standards of housekeeping within the depot and stores area and support the department in carrying out regular and ad hoc stock checks.

Please note: the nature of the work may involve the jobholder carrying out work outside of normal working hours and at different locations than their designated base.

This role is a “Safety Critical Post” and, consequently, subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with our policies and procedures. A copy of our Substance Misuse Policy and Procedure is available upon request.

About You

To apply for this post, you must have:

  • A good standard of education including English and Mathematics at GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent).
  • Experience of using all Microsoft Office Systems and resource allocation systems; you understand Oracle Inventory and can accurately record any data entry to system applications.
  • Knowledge of administrative functions in an office environment and of using ICT systems and business processes to support the efficient delivery of services; you are familiar with entering and retrieving data on computer systems.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work. You have a willingness to be flexible, learn and undertake a variety of different tasks. You also have good numeracy skills, problem solving and analysis.
  • Can effectively support the stores / yard by handling and transporting goods and materials in line with H&S regulations and you understand the local risk assessment for operational procedures within the stores / depot area.
  • Positive customer interaction and ability to support others where appropriate and you can converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
  • It would be ideal, but not essential if you have Forklift/Telehandler experience.
