Job Title: Fabricator
Location: Isle of Sheppey
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday (overtime may be required)
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding metal components according to technical drawings and specifications. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills, precision, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
Measure, mark, cut, drill, bend, and weld metal materials to required dimensions
Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery such as saws, grinders, shears, and presses
Assemble components into finished products using welding or bolting methods
Inspect completed parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications
Maintain equipment and tools in safe, working order
Follow all health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times
Maintain a clean and organised work area
Work collaboratively with engineers, welders, and other team members to meet production deadlines
Participate in quality checks and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
Proven experience in metal fabrication or a similar role
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication diagrams
Skilled in MIG, TIG, or arc welding (certification preferred but not essential)
Competent in the use of fabrication tools and equipment
Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality
Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks, including lifting and standing for long periods
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Desirable:
Formal qualification in Fabrication/Welding or a related field
Forklift or crane operating experience
Familiarity with CNC equipment or CAD/CAM systems
