We have an exciting opportunity to join Trauma Unit as a registered Nurse and work with Trauma and Orthopaedics to help us make a difference to our patients who require exceptional expert care.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated registered band 5 nurses to join our progressive team, with a focus on delivering high quality care to our patients. Trauma Unit is a 40 bed ward and we have patients ranging from spinal to head injuries to fractured bones.You must have experience working with Trauma and Orthopaedic patients in a UK hospital. You will have experience with Collar care and brace care.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of effective and high quality nursing care for patients. This will include completing assessment, developing and maintaining tailored care plans. You will also be responsible for managing your case load and liaising with clinical leads as appropriate.

You will hold a current UK NMC pin with no restrictions.


• To provide high quality, individualised nursing care to patients and their parents/carers through working as an effective member of the inter-disciplinary team. This will include completing assessments and maintaining tailored care plans.
• You will be responsible for and manage your caseload, reporting to the nurse in charge.
• As the successful candidate you will support and drive innovation and will work collaboratively across the multidisciplinary team.
• To contribute to the supervision, assessment and education/development of ward staff and students.
• To contribute to the continuing development of nursing practice through research and audit.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care to a defined patient group either within the acute hospital or community based setting. They are responsible for the assessment, development, delivery and evaluation of evidence based individualised patient care within the boundaries of their role. The post holder will contribute to the continuing development of standards of care including developments of nursing standards and monitoring of outcomes. The post holder will be expected to continue with their own professional development.
