Crynodeb

As the Deputy STRAPSO/Vetting Officer, you’ll support the STRAPSO and Vetting Manager with the implementation of all STRAP security policy and vetting at MOD Corsham and Boddington.

STRAP is a regime that regulates access to sensitive intelligence material which requires more protective handling than is afforded by the standard arrangements for government assets.

You’ll be part of a team that delivers all aspects of security (physical, personnel, information and assets), ensuring compliance with legislation and departmental policy.

Responsibilities

Support the STRAPSO in:

Managing the policy compliance of Corsham and Boddington sites, ensuring national regulations for the maintenance of STRAP information, systems and documentation, at UK and deployed locations, are met.
Notification of, and action on, STRAP security incidents in accordance with the relevant policy requirements and timelines. Monitoring the application of STRAP security guidelines and advising on any shortcomings or issues.
Acting as point of contact regarding authority for induction for access to STRAP material. Providing advice and support to all projects involving STRAP, including new builds and expansions of existing STRAP boundaries.
Maintaining the master list of STRAP certified areas and report on state of compliance and schedule of assurance activity across the group; monitoring inspections of STRAP areas and coordinate assurance activity with inspection teams.
Reviewing STRAP Policy in regard to relevant joint service sectors and represent proposed changes through line management chain and relevant.
As required, conduct STRAP inductions/de-inductions/defensive briefs. Maintaining close liaison and build strong professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across Government.

Support the Vetting Manager in:

Day to day vetting queries, requests, clearances and visits.
