Attendance Officer - SEMH School | Tooting, Southwest London
Prospero Teaching is recruiting an Attendance Officer to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Tooting, Southwest London. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting pupil attendance and engagement across the school.
- Role: Attendance Officer
- Start Date: September 2025 (Immediate start/trials available)
- Contract Type: Long-term with the potential to become permanent
- Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Location: Tooting, Southwest London
- Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
- Parking: On-site parking available
This specialist SEMH school supports boys aged 5-19 with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school provides a therapeutic, supportive, and structured environment, tailored to help pupils re-engage with learning.
- Monitor and track student attendance data daily
- Follow up on absences through calls, emails, and home visits where necessary
- Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to improve attendance
- Maintain accurate records and produce regular attendance reports
- Support safeguarding procedures in relation to student absence
- Experience in school administration, attendance, or pastoral roles
- Excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality procedures
- Calm, confident, and empathetic approach - especially in challenging situations
- Experience working in SEN, SEMH, PRU, or alternative education settings is highly desirable
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Child & Adult Workforce)
- Two recent and relevant references
