Responsibilities of a Graduate Academic Mentor:
• Provide academic mentoring to KS3 and KS4 students
• Support English, Maths, and Science lessons as a Graduate Academic Mentor
• Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions tailored to student needs
• Track progress and help develop learning strategies
• Assist teachers in preparing engaging and inclusive lesson content
• Work with pupils with diverse needs, including SEN and EAL
• Promote positive behaviour and a focused classroom atmosphere
• Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families
• Use your subject knowledge to guide and motivate learners
• Gain the confidence and skills needed for future teaching or support roles
Graduate Academic Mentor – Ideal Candidate:
• A 2:1 or above in a relevant subject (English, Maths, Science preferred)
• Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills
• Adaptable, professional, and enthusiastic in a school setting
• Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, youth work) is desirable
• A genuine passion for education and student achievement
