Summary
We have a great opportunity for a Specialty Doctor interested in supporting our Barnet South Core Community Team through the ongoing work of the Community Transformation Programme, and providing high quality mental health care for adults . It is an exciting time to be working in Barnet and the North London NHS Foundation Trust where there is a commitment to developing equitable services for our local population and to reduce health inequalities.
We are looking for experienced clinicians with leadership skills who are passionate about developing and providing excellent mental health services who demonstrates our Trust values.

o Regular attendance at morning referral meetings
o Provide leadership and supervision to the multidisciplinary Barnet South Core Team, especially when senior colleagues are away on leave.
o Provide diagnostic assessment and treatment for individuals under the care of the team through clinic appointments at Redhill Clinic or via telephone appointments.
o Complete documentation promptly allowing clinical letters to be sent to the GP efficiently.
o Provide support to non-medical staff where a medical opinion is required.
o Provide support in formulating treatment plans in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
o Ensure the review and care of patients’ physical health through liaison with other agencies including the patients GP and general hospital services.
o Allocate time for carrying out home visits.
o Support non-medical staff by attending to crisis situations and managing these effectively.
o Regular attendance at weekly multidisciplinary team meeting
o Promote mental health and independence for all people
o Provide clinical and professional leadership in the service.
o Provide support to carers and relatives of people, including them wherever possible and in care plans.
o Facilitate access to a range of community orientated services to those who may need them.
o Liaise effectively with other Trust services and external partner agencies in the best interests of patients.
o Provide a service of the highest quality, within the limits of our resources.
o Support non-medical colleagues in working independently.
o Take part in management activities related to the post, or the wider service within which it is embedded.
o Comply with all legal obligations covering clinical practice e.g. MHA (1983) and MCA (2005).
o Commit to ensuring fair access to services for all.
o Comply with procedures on reporting concerns about professional conduct or competence of medical or other colleagues.
