Our reputation for high-quality workmanship and outstanding customer service has driven continuous growth—and we’re now looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our team.
Role Overview
As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing and repairing a wide range of passenger cars, vans and light commercial vehicles. You’ll work with diagnostic tools, prepare vehicles for MOT, rebuild major assemblies, and mentor apprentice technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Scheduled Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine servicing, oil changes, brake and suspension work in line with manufacturer guidelines.
Diagnostics: Use software to troubleshoot engine, transmission, ABS, steering, suspension, EV/hybrid and DCT systems.
MOT Preparation: Carry out pre-MOT checks and adjustments; liaise with in-house DVSA tester.
Component Overhaul: Strip, inspect, rebuild and refit engines, gearboxes and hydraulic systems to manufacturer tolerances.
Electrical Work: Diagnose and repair wiring looms, control modules and CAN-bus networks.
Documentation & Parts Management: Complete digital job cards; order, inspect and manage stock of parts.
Customer Liaison: Explain technical issues and recommendations clearly to customers and the Service Manager.
Health & Safety: Maintain a safe workshop environment following HSE and manufacturer protocols.
Team Development: Mentor apprentices and support their on-the-job training.
Person Specification
Essential Desirable
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician at a main dealer or equivalent workshop NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Maintenance
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software EV/Hybrid safety certification
MOT tester accreditation
Strong understanding of manufacturer repair schedules and tolerances DCT / dual-clutch transmission training
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
