Senior residential support worker
Worthing, West Sussex
Full-time, permanent, shift-based including weekends and sleep-ins
Salary: £34,200–£38,000 including uplifts

Be the difference in a young person’s life, even if you’ve never studied for it.
If you’re someone who connects with people easily, who stays calm in a crisis, and who has a strong sense of purpose — this could be the role you didn’t know you were ready for.

We’re Willow Family Care, a small team opening a brand new children's home in Worthing. We’re not a big corporate group. We’re a values-led business created by educators and medical professionals who believe in doing things properly, humanely and differently.

We know many brilliant support workers never thought they were academic. Some didn’t enjoy school. Some have lived experience of care or trauma. Some have been told they’re ‘not management material’ simply because they haven’t done a qualification yet.

That stops here.

We’re looking for experienced support workers to step into a senior role. You might already have your Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or you might be working towards it. Either way, you’ll be someone who is:
Calm and dependable, especially when things get tough
Comfortable leading a shift and supporting less experienced team members
Ready to be a role model for young people
Passionate about doing the right thing and helping others thrive

No level 3? Not a problem – if you’ve got the right experience.

If you’ve been working in residential childcare, youth work, schools, or any setting that involves supporting young people, we’ll consider your experience and potential. We’re creating the Willow Academy, a development pathway to support people through qualifications and career progression, whether into management or therapeutic work. You’ll never be left to study on your own.
In fact, if you’re training to become a professional such as a psychologist, counsellor, play therapist or speech and language specialist, this role could be a fantastic stepping stone. We’re building a team where you can stay, grow and be part of something truly special.

What you’ll get:
A permanent role in a brand new home with a supportive team
Sleep-in and weekend shift bonuses
Mentoring and structured support with qualifications (if needed)
Future opportunities to specialise or progress into leadership
A real say in how the home runs and develops

You’ll need to:
Have experience in a role supporting children or young people
Be confident supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs
Be ready to start a new chapter in September 2025
Have or be prepared to get your driving licence
Have the right to work in the UK, as we’re not licensed to offer sponsorship. If this doesn’t apply to you, we’re really sorry but we won’t be able to progress your application.

How to apply:

We’ve kept our application process simple and supportive. Just fill in a short form about your experience and values and we’ll take it from there.

We’re accepting applications until Friday 28 June. Interviews will be held 23–25 July, with offers made in August for a September start.

This recruitment process is being managed by People Finding Consultancy, acting as Willow’s in-house recruitment partner.

Apply now and help us build something meaningful from day one.
