We have an exciting opportunity for a support worker to join the podiatry and diabetes foot protection team in Hounslow.
We are looking for an enthusiastic support worker to join us. Ideally you will come with experience as a podiatry assistant, but full training can be provided for the right person. We are looking for somebody friendly, flexible, calm and compassionate. Previous experience of working in a healthcare field, would be an advantage.
You will need excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communications and the willingness and commitment to deliver great patient care.
As a Podiatry Assistant your role is to support a large team of podiatrists working in the community across the Borough of Hounslow. You will work either under direct supervision or independently.
You will be working in Hospital OPD, locality clinics, patient’s own homes, and residential care homes, so access to your own transport will be essential.
You will hold your own caseload of patients who have been previously assessed by a podiatrist as suitable for an assistant to manage.
You will need a good understanding of Infection Prevention and Control and need to work at a high level of professionalism and accountability for your own work.
As a podiatry assistant, you will provide toenail cutting and foot care to a cohort of patients, following care plans previously prescribed by the podiatrist.
You will work alongside and directly assist podiatrists carrying out nail surgery sessions.
You will also support podiatrists in diabetes foot clinics, both in the community and in the hospital setting – where you will see very complex wounds.
You will keep accurate and timely clinical records of your treatment on our electronic patient record system.
Alongside an exciting and fulfilling support worker role in a valued environment, we also offer:
• A full induction and preceptorship programme
• A supportive environment to develop clinical skills
• Access to a comprehensive online library of training, development, and resources
• Annual leave buying and selling scheme
• Car lease scheme
• Childcare vouchers
• Discounted Gym membership
• Flexible working
• Staff discounts
