Summary

We are recruiting on behalf of our client who are a global top 10 steel producer for a qualified MAG Welder for a permanent position at Llanwern Steelworks.

Start: ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical, which includes a drug and alcohol test

Responsibilities:
* Working with a team of manufacturers to produce product of varying size for the highway industry
* Operating processing machinery and material handling equipment in line with safety procedures at all times
* Handling materials, checking stock records, labelling and storing product
* Fabricating safety critical components against supplied fabrication drawings
* Suggesting and utilising continuous improvement initiatives to maximise machine availability
* Adhering to UK Health and Safety legislation at all times

Essential requirements:
* A minimum of 5 years experience as a Welder/Fabricator
* Ability to read and understand Fabrication drawings
* Proven MAG 135 fillet and butt weld qualification
* Experience (and qualified) following ISO 9606-1 standards
* Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
* Good verbal and written communication skill
* Previous experience operating mobile plant equipment
