Crynodeb

A new and exciting opportunity for an individual with specialist moving & handling skills to join our Specialist Moving & Handling Team.

Visiting clients within the community and assessing there moving & handling needs, working with colleagues to achieve the best outcome for the client.

Training and guiding carers on the best moving & handling practice.


This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate, at our cost.

It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Children and Adults Barred List check. West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

What will you be doing?

As a Moving & Handling Assessor, your responsibilities will include:

  • To be able to work with primarily customers with physically disabilities.
  • Working alongside a team of occupational therapists and reablement support workers.
  • To complete moving & handling assessments and formulate moving & handling plans and carry a caseload.
  • You will also receive ongoing training and development as part of this role and deliver training to providers too.
  • Working 37 hours per week, Mon - Fri.
About you

Requirements:

  • A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle with business insurance, is a must (mileage will be paid).
  • A level or equivalent
  • ROSPA Level 3, Moving & Handling train the trainer – or equivalent qualification.
  • A good knowledge of working within health & social care, moving & handling plans and assessments as well as safe guarding and equal opportunities.
