Role: Room Lead / Senior Practitioner - Pre-school
Salary negotiable based on experience
Reports to: Nursery Manager
Purpose:
We’re looking for someone who’s motivated to work alongside Senior Management, nursery staff, and the wider nursery community to provide a space where children can truly thrive and reach their full potential and beyond.
You'll play a key role in helping us maintain the warm, close-knit environment we’re proud of — one where every child feels safe, valued, and heard. Through positive engagement and a nurturing approach, you’ll help ensure our nursery remains a caring space for both children and the team around them.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
To keep records of children’s progress through their learning and progress development reports, and to be able to communicate effectively with parents, children and colleagues
To work alongside professionals such as health visitors, SALT etc.
Implement the keyworker system and to have key children
Be confident in implementing procedures for dealing with disclosures, reporting and recording of any safeguarding matters in regards to the children’s or colleagues welfare.
Ensure that health and safety standards, alongside other nursery policies and procedures, are upheld to maintain a secure and safe environment
Support the children’s holistic development through; (1) Being involved in their learning and play (2) Promoting a healthy lifestyle (3) Group working and key worker time
Plan activities for both indoors and outdoors that are age appropriate and that challenge the children to be curious and ask questions.
Demonstrate leadership through promoting good practices and showing initiative
Expectations:
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in early years
- Experience in an early years setting, ideally with leadership experience
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
- Successfully complete all DBS checks
