These services include facilities management, cleaning and hygiene, maintenance and engineering, catering, security, landscaping, and other bespoke solutions tailored to the needs of clients across the Public, Private, and specialist sectors.
The Gas Engineer will deliver commercial and domestic gas, heating, combustion, and general building services maintenance across a varied portfolio of client sites in the designated region.
This is a hands-on and busy role, ideal for an engineer who wants to deepen their technical expertise and develop within a supportive environment that encourages training and progression.
Job Description
You’ll be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including fault finding, repairs, preventative maintenance and installations, with a particular focus on commercial gas systems and HVAC-related work.
The core goal of this position is to consistently provide a high-quality, reliable building services maintenance solution that meets world-class standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out PPM, reactive and proactive maintenance on commercial/domestic combustion, heating and HVAC systems within set timeframes.
Perform minor repairs and new installations, diagnosing faults, including basic electrical issues.
Respond to callouts as per rota and ensure plant rooms and storage areas are kept clean and orderly.
Conduct contractor control duties, including monitoring work quality, issuing Permits to Work, and ensuring compliance with standards.
Ensure all equipment operates to required performance criteria and complies with health & safety regulations.
Maintain accurate documentation and complete administration tasks promptly.
Build positive client relationships, provide a professional service, and suggest improvements to enhance service delivery.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Proven experience in a multi-site role, ideally within the facilities management sector
Extensive experience working with commercial boilers and in commercial environments
Holds valid commercial gas qualifications (COCN1 essential)
Additional domestic gas tickets are highly desirable
Beneficial to hold plumbing and/or air conditioning qualifications
Strong understanding of industry regulations and compliance standards
Able to work independently across varied sites, managing time and workload effectively
