Join us as a Scrum Master

At NatWest Cushon we like to do things a bit differently. Our mission is to help as many people as possible to get comfortable with their finances, and our vision is to bring tech revolution to the financial services industry

  • Supporting cross-functional teams of Software and Operational Engineers, Quality Engineers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts, you’ll ensure continuous improvement is at the forefront of every team’s goal while sharing best practices
  • You’ll guide, coach, and motivate teams with the goal of increasing productivity, self-organising, facilitating Scrum events, communicating with stakeholders, and achieving deliverables
  • Joining Cushon, you’ll help our customers get comfortable with their finances, and support our vision to bring tech revolution to the financial services industry by building simple, convenient, and enjoyable financial experiences tailored to our customers’ needs
  • The salary for this role is £45,000 and you will be expected to be in the London office two days per month

What you'll do

As a Scrum Master for Cushon, you’ll ensure the success of our Agile teams through continuous improvement and the inspection and adaptation of processes to drive delivery solutions with efficiency and quality. You’ll work with our Agile Transformation team, sharing knowledge and improving wider Engineering and Product team processes. You’ll also oversee and manage scope, timeline, quality, goals and deliverables, schedules, and cost performance as well as identifying and tracking key KPIs, and preparing and presenting reports on progress and success.

As well as this, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions
  • Training, mentoring, and supporting cross-functional Agile teams to help them follow agile values, principles, and practices
  • Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items and scheduling and facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes
  • Monitoring progress and performance and helping teams to make improvements to become more effective and self-organising
  • Planning and organising reviews and system testing, and preparing and presenting status reports for stakeholders
  • Ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes and coaching the Scrum teams on removing impediments

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for an innovative, ambitious, strategic-minded self-starter with the ability to work well cross-functionally and in virtual teams with stakeholders at all levels. You’ll be driven and inquisitive with a thirst for understanding and using gathered knowledge to push through change in the business.

As well as this, you’ll demonstrate:

  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to balance conflicting requirements to deliver value to the business
  • The willingness to go the extra step to help achieve customer satisfaction
  • The drive to identify new frameworks and best practices that can further boost the effectiveness of our Engineering teams
  • Strong Jira skills and the ability to manage the progress of work and extract relevant reports
