About Unity Academy Blackpool
Unity Academy Blackpool is an all through school for children aged 2-16, we are an inclusive academy which is committed to providing the best possible education for all the children within our care. Our curriculum is developed to ensure progression across all ages with many of our systems and processes being designed to work for children right the way through the school. The school motto is ‘In Unity, we succeed’ and this is at the heart of what we believe in. In Unity everyone works together to be successful. The Technology Technician will provide technical support across all areas of technology including food, textiles, graphics, photography and art. This role will be predominantly based in the food technology room in the preparation of ingredients, tools, equipment and materials for lessons. The DT Technician will undertake a practical health and safety role for the relevant departments. The DT technician role forms a central part of the work of the department and he/she will work closely with teaching staff across the subjects to support, develop and further extend the work of the department and the experiences of the students. The Academy’s sponsor is FCAT, the Fylde Coast Academy Trust. The Role
To work with teachers as part of a professional team to support learning by providing technical assistance through the preparation of ingredients and the day-to-day maintenance of teaching areas, specialist rooms and equipment for pupils.
