About the role

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual into a Support Assistant post at Bury Employment Support and Training (Bury EST). This is a fantastic opportunity to work collaboratively with a range of partners and stakeholders in generating income for the Bury EST service and developing income ideas to enable the service to continue to operate as a Trading Account.
Ideally the candidate will be able to provide the highest standards of professional and practical support to disabled and disadvantaged customers under the direction of the Bury EST Team Leader, Assistant Team Leader and Operational staff, developing an individual’s skills to reach their potential, whether this is employment or life skills/independence.

On a personal level, our ideal candidate will be a confident and assertive individual with excellent communication and inter-personal skills. They will possess the knowledge and understanding of the social, physical and emotional needs of people and be able to provide evidence of their experience and skills in offering practical support.
Normal hours of work are 18 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Hours of work are 3 days per week 9 30pm-3.30pm (the days will be over Mon-Fri but will be confirmed). Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
