Salary: £33,366 - £37,035 per annum (Grade 6)

Hours: 36.66 per week

Location: Oldham Council, The Spindles Centre, George Street, Oldham. OL1 1HD

Role Overview:

Working within the council’s Place Making Service, you will support the delivery of economic development, regeneration and cultural projects to maximise the potential of the Borough and Oldham town centre as a catalyst for regeneration, tourism, skills development and community cohesion, promoting a customer focussed environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide information and support to internal colleagues to deliver events and visits from funding bodies and trade associations.
  • Promote Oldham as an investment location; and support activities which promote/market the area (including specific sites/developments and businesses activities as may be required) and ensure the Council plays a proactive role in supporting business networks.
  • To act as key officer/adviser working with private sector organisations and stakeholders who impact on the town centre and direct the delivery of initiatives which impact on the centre
  • To prepare reports and make presentations to committees, boards, internal groups and external organisations as required and to be a visible and positive representative for the borough and Oldham Council


Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will be able to:

  • Work directly with businesses and business groups in a business support or similar role.
  • Demonstrate excellent project management skills and able to work on multiple projects at any one time.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of regeneration, economic development and business support strategies, policies, and practice
