Job Description
Our Finance Assistant Manager will be key to analysing our financial data to bring about improvements in processes, systems and financial control. This role will be working with Head of Departments (HODs) and the Finance Manager to understand and control costs and to maximise financial efficiency. This role joins two other members of our Finance team based on site at our contract location.
What you'll be doing:
- Conducting in-depth financial analysis, looking at any trends and performance metrics to support with strategic decisions, and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecast, and be able to provide variance analysis and insights on budget vs actual performance.
- Collaborate with departments to gather relevant data for budgeting and forecasting purposes, ensuring accurate data, including Monitor budgetary performance and provide regular reports to management.
- Create ad-hoc reports as needed for specific projects or analysis.
- Review operating expenses and capital expenditure with HODs, and perform scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of different business decisions.
- Track and manage the monthly product cost allocation proces, and monitor monthly performance against budget, estimates and prior years.
- Create dynamic reports and dashboards that highlight trends and potential red flags for both operating and capitalised spendsm and analysing costs and expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor market trends and external factors that may influence, explain and impact the organisation's financial performance.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Finance Managers and wider team, including handling ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Support with any ongoing projects, including assisting with any data migrations or financial information.
Qualifications
Essential:
- GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths grade C or above
- Moderate Excel Skills (Lookups, Pivot tables, power query)
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisation and time keeping skills
- Team Player but the confidence to work independently
- A self-starting attitude
Desirable:
- Mathematics, finance or economics degree
- Confident with Excel Macros
- Previous experience in management accounts
- Experienced in leading management meetings
- Experienced in Power BI
- Experience with EPOS systems
