Crynodeb
A full range of clinical Virology services including virus serology and an extensive range of molecular tests are provided by the Brighton laboratory making it an exciting and innovative place to work. The base for the successful candidate is Brighton, but they may be required to attend any Trust site, including the virology section at St. Richards Hospital in Chichester. The post holder will act as a registered Biomedical Scientist, in all sections of Virology, who scientifically analyses clinical specimens, interprets the results and generates reports to aid the clinicians in the diagnosis of and progression of disease as well as monitoring treatment effectiveness. As a Biomedical Scientist the post holder will undertake a range of complex investigations to assist in the diagnosis of disease, and monitoring of treatment. These investigations include manual, semi-automated and automated techniques on specialised analytical equipment including both serology and molecular techniques.
