Key Tasks Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients. To share with colleagues responsibility for the day-to-day management of patients. To promote new ways of working and co-ordinating care for patients in the community and to ensure that services are based on effective and integrated partnerships across the health community. Take part in multidisciplinary case conferences. Supervise and train junior medical staff To be involved in appraising and assessing juniors. Teaching, research and administration. To proactively develop the service. To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit. Participation on a rotational ward cover for between 21-24 inpatient hepatology beds across two wards at the LRI 1:17 Out of hours On-Call for GI Bleeds Participation in a rostered in-reach Monday to Friday (9.00-5.00) General hepatology outpatient clinics within UHL +/- UHL in the Community, Endoscopy sessions across UHL +/- UHL in the Community. Opportunity for flexible working including weekend endoscopy sessions There are opportunities to participate in the endoscopy training academy as well as becoming a faculty member for JAG courses run at UHL. We have had significant national investment with a new 2 roomed endoscopy unit opening at Hinckley Hospital (CDC) in April 2025. In August 2025 we will open a new Endoscopy Unit at the LGH site which will comprise of 6 procedure rooms. The unit will have excellent training facilities with SMOTS installed in three procedure rooms linking to a large seminar room which will facilitate the wide range of JAG courses the department run.
