1. Leadership To support the Lead Directorate Pharmacist HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology in the development and delivery of pharmaceutical services to the HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology directorate: Identify and promote best practice Motivate and inspire others (both within pharmacy and the directorate) in order to create and maintain a good working environment and facilitate staff retention Demonstrate innovation within the specialty Ensure that issues related to pharmaceutical care are appropriately represented within the HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology directorate Work collaboratively with senior pharmacy and medical staff, the multidisciplinary team, management and participate in the natural agenda for pharmacy services in accordance with the agreed objectives e.g. by being a member of the Directorate Drugs or Clinical Governance Subcommittees Proactively develop the HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology pharmacy service in response to the needs of the Directorate, in line with local and national objectives Reconcile national priorities with local realities in terms of delivery of local services and within the constraints of the commissioned service Deputise for the Lead Directorate Pharmacist HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology at relevant external meetings in order to network and share knowledge with other HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology specialists at a regional and national level Ensure that prescribing issues in HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology are managed within the development of Electronic Patient Records Management of service To provide clinical pharmacy services for people attending the HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology directorate services in accordance with the priorities set by the post holder and Lead Directorate Pharmacist HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology Support the Lead Pharmacist HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology in prioritising clinical pharmacy services to the directorate To be responsible for leading the pharmacy service to the allocated clinical areas When acting as the lead for inpatient services within the team, to review all resident pharmacist handover e-mails and deal with all issues relevant to the directorate, providing feedback and training where necessary When acting as the lead for inpatient services within the team, to implement and develop the self-medication scheme for HIV in-patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) on the HIV inpatient ward When acting as the overarching lead for education and training within the team, to supervise and oversee the training of the trainee and resident pharmacists when they rotate through the specialty. Evaluate their performance against objectives using Trust performance and development reviews and personal development plans When acting as the overarching lead for HIV services within the team, to support the Lead Pharmacist in the management of the HIV outpatient pharmacy service across all HIV outpatient clinics To be responsible for producing monthly and quarterly reports on controlled drugs and medication incidents within the directorate as required To be responsible for leading the pharmacy service for the allocated outpatient clinic(s) Line-manage the assigned specialist pharmacists within the specialty as directed. This includes appraisal, performance review and dealing with any disciplinary and performance matters as necessary Assist in the investigation of errors and complaints involving the pharmaceutical services delivered to the directorate, liaising with the Lead Directorate Pharmacist for the specialty and other relevant managers to ensure a satisfactory outcome Review drug related incidents that occur within the directorate and implement actions to reduce re-occurrence. Deputise for the Lead Pharmacist HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology on Trust committees or groups where appropriate Work across traditional boundaries e.g. independent prescribing role/advanced practitioner role Delegate authority appropriately to junior pharmacy staff, e.g. clinics and wards within the specialty, which are appropriate for their level of experience Support the Lead Pharmacist HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology in the recruitment and retention of staff for the team Assist Medicines Information with responses to queries generated relating to the HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology specialties Provide evaluated pharmaceutical and financial information for the HIV, Sexual and Gender Health and Dermatology Directorate in accordance with the needs of the directorate Support the Lead Directorate Pharmacist to effectively monitor and report on the directorate's drug expenditure and provide feedback to service managers, clinicians and finance colleagues at both a directorate and Trust level Please see attached job description and person specification to this advert for further details.
