English/Primary Teacher - SEMH Provision
Location: Loughborough
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience and qualifications
Are you an experienced English or Primary-trained teacher looking for a rewarding role in a specialist SEMH setting? A highly respected alternative provision in Loughborough is seeking a dedicated and adaptable teacher to join their team from September.
This setting provides a safe, supportive environment for young people who have struggled in mainstream education due to social, emotional, and mental health challenges. With small class sizes, high staff-to-student ratios, and a therapeutic approach, this is a fantastic opportunity to truly engage pupils and support both their academic and emotional development.
The role:
- Deliver a broad and engaging English/Primary curriculum to KS3 and lower KS4 students
- Focus on literacy, communication skills, and personal development
- Work closely with SENCOs, therapists, and support staff to create a bespoke learning experience
- Build positive, consistent relationships with students to support behaviour and progress
What we're looking for:
- QTS/QTLS or Primary PGCE with experience teaching in alternative or specialist settings
- Strong understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed practice
- Flexible, creative teaching style and a calm, compassionate approach
- Commitment to inclusive education and making a difference in young people's lives
This role would suit a teacher who thrives on challenge, values strong team support, and is motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
