Job Advert Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Firearms Enquiry Officer in Criminal Justice.
What you will be doing?
1.To carry out enquiries, in order to assess the suitability of persons for the grant, renewal or variation of firearms and/or shotgun certificates, applications to become Registered Firearm Dealers and explosive certificates.
2.Where public safety is an issue, to undertake a review of incidents involving firearms/shotgun certificate holders, analyse the information, prepare case files and summaries in order to make objective and impartial judgements and recommendations to the Firearms and Explosives Licensing Specialist.
3.Provide specialist technical advice to police officers, PCSOs and police staff in respect of contentious applications for the grant, renewal or variation of firearms and shotgun applications, including security and safe use of firearms.
