On call requirements will vary depending on the specific clinical area and rota. This will be on a 1:13 / 1:14 composing of on call days, nights on call, twilight shifts and weekend working on a compliant junior doctor rota. Expect to attend surgical hot-week handover meetings to present new patients assessed as part of the on-call. As part of the on-call component there is a 7-day CEPOD week, dedicated exclusively to assisting on emergency general surgical patients. Providing ample opportunities for teaching and training. This also includes a week of dedicated CEPOD theatre time.
