This is an exciting opportunity for nurses or midwives who are passionate and enthusiastic about Neonatal care to join our team.
The Neonatal Unit at Frimley Park Hospital is a Local Neonatal Unit made up of 2 Intensive Care, 3 High Dependency and 11 Special Care cots. The unit cares for babies over 26+6 weeks gestation and stabilises any baby under that gestation, to be transferred to a tertiary hospital/ NICU.
If you are newly qualified, about to qualify or are looking for a new challenge we would love to hear from you. You do not have to be a paediatric nurse to work in the neonatal unit. We have adult nurses and midwives on our team too.
We are in a position to be able to support an experienced neonatal nurse to undertake the QIS course in 2026.
Our team aspires to provide high quality and evidence based; clinical, developmental and family integrated care in order to ensure the best outcomes for our babies and their families.
• To deliver the highest standard of compassionate and family-centered care to babies and their families, ensuring their physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met. Assist senior nursing staff in the comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized paediatric care for an allocated caseload of patients. Support the entire patient journey, from admission through treatment to discharge or transfer, maintaining continuity and quality of care. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to promote a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment. Monitor and document patient progress accurately, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to senior staff. Participate in health promotion, parental education, and emotional support to empower families in caring for their child. Adhere strictly to NHS policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines to ensure compliance with best practice and regulatory standards. Maintain confidentiality, safeguarding, and infection control measures at all times. Contribute to ongoing professional development and clinical skills enhancement to continuously improve care delivery.
