Summary
Right now, we’re looking for a dynamic Director of Paid to lead and scale our Paid Media offering, driving strategic innovation and sustainable growth. We’re open to shaping this role around the right person. While a full-time, permanent position is available (typically Monday to Friday, 9am–5:30pm 37.5 hours a week), we’re also happy to consider part-time hours, flexible working patterns, or even a freelance contract if that suits you better. THE ROLE
As Director of Paid, you’ll provide strategic leadership and oversight of our Paid Media services, directly influencing the agency’s long-term growth and client success.
1. Define and implement the strategic vision for Paid Media, aligning it with business objectives.
2. Mentor and line manage the Head of Paid, empowering leadership at all levels.
3. Oversee the growth, structure and scalability of the Paid team, ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.
4. Engage with senior-level clients to provide strategic guidance and enhance client relationships.
5. Collaborate across departments to ensure integrated strategies and aligned goals.
6. Identify opportunities for innovation, market growth and new services, including media buying.
7. Champion best practices, ensure consistent documentation and continuous improvement of strategic processes.
8. Act as a thought leader and brand ambassador, representing Sleeping Giant Media externally.
9. Regularly evaluate departmental KPIs, budgets and team performance.
10. Foster an inclusive culture, attracting and retaining exceptional talent.
THE PERSON
We’re seeking an experienced, strategic-minded individual with exceptional leadership capabilities and a passion for paid media. You’ll have a proven track record of scaling teams, driving innovation and delivering results within an agency environment.
1. Exceptional analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail in tracking, reporting and optimisation.
2. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to align strategies to business growth objectives.
3. Inspiring communicator and persuasive presenter, both internally and externally.
4. Proactive approach to industry trends and digital marketing innovations.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Agency experience and familiarity with agency-side operations.
Bonus points if you have:
7. Extensive network and proven industry recognition as a thought leader.
8. Experience in using advanced data analytics and tracking (GA4, attribution models).
9. Media buying experience.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum 10 years’ experience in strategic paid media roles, ideally within an agency environment.
2. Proven leadership in scaling and structuring paid media teams and services.
3. Deep expertise in platforms like Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads and emerging digital channels.
4. Media buying expertise, ideally with experience planning, negotiating and executing cross-channel media strategies.
