What skills and experience we're looking for

Excelsior Academy, part of Laidlaw Schools Trust, are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Psychology and Criminology

If you are someone who has the ability to engage and enthuse students with a love of Psychology and Criminology, coupled with the drive and commitment required to become a truly outstanding teacher, then we would like to hear from you.

Experience, an ability to teach and assess to A Level standard is a requirement of this post. The successful candidate will positively contribute to raising standards of attainment and achievement for all pupils at Excelsior. You will provide consistently high-quality teaching and enable the effective use of resources to facilitate high standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.

The post is suitable for an UQT, ECT or a more experienced colleague.

UQT - will be considered if willing to undertake teacher training

(£2,000 per annum additional payment for leading subject)

Excelsior Academy was opened in 2008 and became the first All Through school in Newcastle, offering education to pupils from 3 to 19 years of age. Excelsior serves one of the most challenging communities both in the region and nationally. All pupils in our primary, secondary and sixth form provision have access to the same high-quality teaching, exceptional facilities and fabulous resources. Our purpose-built building provides excellent facilities for the 1500+ pupils who study here. Approximately 200 pupils attend our primary school, 1100 in the secondary phase and 180 in the sixth form. We are a popular choice for our local community and are now oversubscribed in most year groups.
