We are recruiting for a Payroll Systems Lead, for a fixed term of 6 months,to join our friendly team at Market Drayton. We are looking for an experienced individual to provide support for Business and Payroll Systems and deliver associated system maintenance and new business requirements. Support day to day system end user needs with report development and general enquiries.
Key Responsibilities for the Payroll Systems Lead:
- Setup and maintain system users accounts, ensuring that system governance is upheld.
- Manage and respond to Payroll user requests as required – responsibility to build, maintain and support for day-to-day running of the Payroll Systems.
- Conduct first line analysis of system issues raised by end users, escalate to tier 2 support when required.
- Act as a system support SME, owning all escalated software issues.
- Own the change process where service requests cannot be answered via available FAQs etc., and enhancement or change is needed to be implemented.
- Support the production of ad-hoc reporting and Organisational Charts.
- Support with the design of additional reporting via reporting extracts, and ensuring reports are built that will allow ease of access to data.
- Provide Business and Payroll system support.
- Prepare system/user documentation for the current and future implementation of systems.
- Develop, maintain and deliver system changes and day-to-day support.
- Responsibility for testing of statutory upgrades, testing of enhancements and ensuring test processes are followed. Support the escalation of issues to IT and/or System Providers to ensure that issues are progressed, and the correct level of support obtained.
- Ensure customers are kept up to date with progress of issues in order to manage their expectations.
- Take responsibility for transition planning, communication of changes of functionality, and support with training of end users.
- Demonstration of up-to-date statutory Payroll & Technical knowledge to ensure compliance with legislative and business requirements.
- Support the development of processes that help to increase team effectiveness, for example: Eider projects, T&A System changes and Data cleansing/housekeeping, process mapping and SOP writing.
Key Skills & Experience for the Payroll Systems Lead:
- Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience of improving and maintaining systems, ideally in a Payroll environment.
- Expert skills in Northgate and other payrolls, Kronos and other T&A systems, as well as other peripheral Payroll Systems. Awareness of databases.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office, mainly Excel.
- Good administrative, interpersonal and team skills.
- Communication Skills: able to communicate clearly and effectively with users, and to both train and write documentation in non-technical language.
- High attention to detail & accuracy.
- Highly organized and structured work approach.
- Flexible, adaptable, resilient, persistent.
- Positive, consultative.
- Inquisitive, challenging.
- Self-motivated & committed.
