Loughborough College is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Web Developer. A self-starter with a genuine passion for web development, learning new skills, and can thrive working in a small team. The Web team work within the wider Marketing and Communications team to design and develop engaging and interactive websites, e-communications, and web-based applications to assist with the core marketing and recruitment of students for the college. Alongside marketing, the team work on internal student and staff-facing websites, applications and services which support and streamline the college’s business processes. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute substantially to a small but dedicated team of developers. You will be involved in the whole lifecycle of projects from conception, planning and development through testing and deployment, offering a chance to shape and deliver high-quality, innovative and engaging solutions. To be successful, you’ll need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of both front-end and server-side technologies, including: HTML5 CSS / SCSS JavaScript (e.g., Vanilla / Svelte) A server-side language (PHP, NodeJs, .Net) Experience or knowledge of any of the following would be an advantage: Content management systems (e.g. WordPress, Drupal) Version / Source control (GIT) SQL (MySQL / MSSQL) Accessibility (WCAG 2.1) In this wide and varied role, there will be an opportunity to develop, explore and enhance new and existing skills, as well as opportunities to take a lead on the continuous development of the team’s best practices.
