We're looking for a proactive and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive and inclusive school environment located near Lewes. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in supporting student learning and development, particularly for those with Special Educational Needs.
As an HLTA, you'll work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences, lead lessons, and provide targeted support to individuals and small groups. A key part of this role involves adapting teaching materials and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive.
What You'll Bring- Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status is essential.
- Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA, ideally within a school setting.
- Significant experience and expertise in working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- A strong understanding of various SEN conditions and effective support strategies.
- The ability to lead lessons and manage a classroom effectively, under the guidance of a teacher.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential due to the school's location and potential for off-site activities.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
