The Commercial Relationship Management (CRM) Team procures and provides advice on the procurement and contract management of everything purchased by the Department from third parties, including most advisors and technical solutions. It supports all modes of transport (Rail, Maritime, Aviation, Roads) and the corporate functions, including Digital and Technology.
The role holder will be based in the Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Category. The DDaT Category is a busy team which supports and influences the entire Department. It provides a direct service to the Department’s Digital Services team delivering commercial (sourcing and procurement) solutions to core issues such as infrastructure, equipment and systems.

As a Commercial Relationship Adviser for the DDaT Category team, the primary role is to provide a wide range of customers from across the DfT with commercial advice, support and tools to plan their requirements for digitally enabled services; run competitions and deliver compliant Value for Money solutions to support the taxpayer which in turn deliver on departmental policies.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
Support the CRM DDaT Category team as appropriate to run procurements within the contractual delegation. Build close and trusted relationships with colleagues across the Department. Produce a clear pipeline across the client group and develop a programme of activities. Ensure that contracts awarded within their contractual delegation are compliant.For further information on the role, please read the role profile.
