These are aimed at protecting the public and the environment through monitoring, auditing, providing information and advice and, where appropriate taking formal enforcement action.
Other activities include sampling, investigation of complaints and incidents, assessment and review of technical information including planning applications, provision of technical advice and report writing. Other regulatory or advice duties may also be assigned to the post holder.
It is essential you have an HNC, or equivalent in a relevant subject and/or significant relevant experience, experience of advising on legislation & applying standards/guidance and/or working within a regulatory role and experience in the use of IT and packages such as Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel.
You will be able to self-manage and work on own initiative and be able to work as part of a team whilst balancing team, service and corporate priorities.
You will also have knowledge of new initiatives, procedures and best practice in Environmental Health in particular relating to air quality, GIS, private water supplies, HMO standards and landlord registration enforcement activities, along with the ability to interpret and apply new legislation.
